Centre for Innovation in Infectious Disease Research, Education, and Training, CIIDRET was established under the ordinance XV-A of the University of Delhi in October 2015.  Professor Dinesh Singh, the Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi in 2015 approved the establishment of CIIDRET based on the proposal submitted by its core members and the recommendations of the Board of Inter-Disciplinary Programmes.  CIIDRET has received due approvals of the Academic Council and the Executive Council of University of Delhi. The Center was alloted space on the first floor of the Engineering Building for its research activities led by the core members, Professor Vijay Chaudhary, Professor Anil Tyagi and Dr. Amita Gupta.  Collaborating scientists from University Departments, other academic institutions and Industry contributed in the establishment of CIIDRET.
