Professor Yogendra Singh is at the Department of Zoology of University of Delhi and was the Director of CIIDRET from September 2020 to March 2022.

Prior to joining University of Delhi in 2015, he was Chief Scientist at CSIR-Institute of genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi.  He is also Dean of Life Science Research at University of Delhi.

Professor Singh has more than 100 publications in high-impact international journals and more than 20 US and several Indian patents. He is a Fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences of India (NASI) and Association of Microbiologists of India.  He has also received J.C. Bose National Fellowship.  He is Editorial Board Member of Journal of Biological Chemistry, mSystems and Indian Journal of Microbiology.  He has been a member of committees of DBT, CSIR and DST.
